This is our sacred space
At the heart of our ministries is WinShape Retreat, which embodies the spirit and transformation of WinShape Foundation. We guide individuals, families, and organizations to a renewed hope and purpose through our ministries.
Faith, family, and service
Since 1946, Chick-fil-A has pioneered with delicious food and top-notch service. Truett Cathy, Founder and Chairman, started the business when he and his brother, Ben, opened an Atlanta diner, Dwarf Grill, known today as the Dwarf House. Chick-fil-A has since rooted itself in values of faith, family, and service to the community.
Growing and serving
Twenty years later, Truett opened the first Chick-fil-A restaurant in Atlanta’s Greenbriar shopping center. Today, there are over 1600 Chick-fil-A restaurants in 39 states, and the Cathy family has led Chick-fil-A through a remarkable 45 years of consecutive annual sales increases.
The WinShape Foundation is born
The WinShape Foundation, founded in 1984, grew from Truett’s desire to shape winners by helping young people succeed in life through scholarships and youth-support programs. Each year, the foundation awards 20+ scholarships up to $32,000, and over the years, Chick-fil-A has given more than $25million in scholarships to restaurant employees.
The legacy continues
Truett Cathy shook the hearts of families across the country when he passed away on September 8th, 2014. His sons, Dan T., Don “Bubba”, and his daughter, Trudy Cathy White, have carried on his legacy by sustaining a variety of non-profits. Each of these efforts reinforces the Cathy family’s dedication to a lifetime of serving others.
